The American Beefalo is a cross between two distinct species, the American Bison and domestic cattle. It is a true hybrid animal. The beefalo has a lean tender meat very low in fat and cholesterol. Because Beefalo is a hybrid cross between a bison and a domestic beef cow it contains between 17 percent and 37.5 percent bison blood. This hybrid can adapt to weather extremes. Beefalo exhibit a very high conception rate and efficient foraging ability. The Beefalo also has more hair per square inch and has the ability to perspire.
